My sister Meredith and I are going to Clemson in the morning for the Georgia Tech game and to visit with some old college friends. We are both very much looking forward to a little sister time. My darling husband got us tickets, a parking pass and even a hotel room so we won't have to be driving late at night. Since I will be gone for a whole day and night I have been working just a little bit harder to get the house picked up, laundry all caught up, food in the pantry, my clothes packed, lists of the activities the kids should be attending written etc. I can't help but laugh at how different it is when my man goes away for a night or two. He puts his clothes in a bag and leaves. No need to make a major production out of it. Just hop in the truck and head out. We are wired so differently.
Another example of our differences:
When my sister in law, Timmy's sister, called me last night with the wonderful news that I am going to have another niece or nephew I was ecstatic. I cried, jumped up and down and started thinking about all the great memories she is making. I asked her if Timmy knew yet and she told me that yes he has actually known for about a week. A week and he hadn't mentioned it to me once. Of course I immediately called him and asked him about it. Know what his respones was? Nonchalantly he said "I haven't had time to tell you." Oh my word, seriously? No time to tell me that your own sister is expecting? No time in a whole week? I had to laugh. If she had called me first I would have called him as soon as I hung up with her to share such wonderful news.

Life is Good
Oh how true it is that life is good. I am incredibly blessed to have my precious family, healthy and happy. But I must say that I think life is just a little better when you are at the beach. We spent a beautiful Autumn weekend at Mom and Dad's place in Garden City doing nothing special but hanging out together. It's nice to get away from home from time to time to just be us. The fall and winter are my favorite times to be at the beach. I enjoy the more laid back quiet atmosphere at our end anyway but this time of year it is so peaceful without large crowds.
The boys spent their mornings doing a little fishing in the surf.
We all had fun looking for shells.
We found a bunch of star fish too.
A little art project with all the shells we found. It's a tiger paw.
Our mornings were spent relaxing on the porch, sipping coffee and hot chocolate while looking
this view.

No trip to the beach is complete without a photo shoot for mom.

Clemson Homecoming
We had a fantastic time this past weekend visiting our beloved Clemson for homecoming. If you are not a Clemson fan (I simply can't imagine such a thing) you probably don't know what our homecoming is all about. Different organizations from the school work all week putting together floats on Bowman field for judging. There are tons of different activities leading up to the big game. Friday night before the game they put on a huge pep rally called Tigerama. There are skits, musical groups and the crowning of the homecoming queen. We took our children to Tigerama. The kids all loved every minute of it especially the football team rap. Check out this link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dq-r1NeFGwk for the youtube video of Josh's new favorite song. He and his daddy sang it all day long on Saturday.
Yeah We're all in.
We were up and going by 8:00 Saturday morning to do a little tailgating and touring some of the campus. The game didn't quite turn out like we had hoped but we had fun in spite of the score. After the game we walked through the floats on Bowman Field before heading downtown to look around the stores a bit. The crowds were huge and as I get older I am less tolerant of them but I do love my school and love sharing it with my children.
Josh and his daddy threw the football a bunch while we were tailgating.
showing off their paws
watching the crowd enter the stadium
We posed a bit during the game.

Life is just so good.
