Sara Abbett's team played their last softball game of the season Friday night. They played a split squad game and Rab's side lost by a lot. It doesn't matter a bit about whether they won or lost, all of the girls had a great game. I am so very proud of all of them. I have loved watching Rab develop as a player from a clumsy girl without a clue what to do to a home run hitter. Oh yeah, for the last game not only did she get a hit but it was a home run. Way to go my Rabbie girl. She has improved so much over the last few months and I am hoping, with lots of practice, to see her become a great player.

Memorial Day Weekend at the Beach

Timmy and I took Sara Abbett and Josh to the beach for the long weekend. Anna Grace was invited but chose to stay home with her best good friend.

The children had a ball playing in the ocean. I watched them and of course all of the people around us. It was fun to watch some new parents playing and entertaining their, I would guess, one year old in the sand. They had a bucket of shiny new toys and even the grandparents wallowed in the sand to play. I remember so well being like that. This time we sent our two down to talk to some guy who was surf fishing. I kept an eye on them but sent them alone to get a fishing report. He showed them how to hunt for sand fleas. This kept Josh occupied for well over an hour.

We almost always eat at least one meal at Hard Rock Cafe. This weekend was no exception. Sara Abbett got to choose where we would eat and this was her choice. They both had a blast posing on the motorcycle out front and leaning on the wall at the entrance.

Josh styling in his new Yankees jersey. We are actually more Red Sox fans but his coaches pitch team was the Yankees and he had to have this.
Our friends Rob and Stephanie and their precious son Newt joined us for a night. Newt makes the best mean face but when I pulled out the camera he was a cheeser. Both of my children loved playing with him.

I could eat him up. What a doll.

K-5 Graduation

My baby had his kindergarten graduation program this morning. I am so proud of my Joshie. He got up with a few of the other children and gave the welcome. Each class sang a couple songs then got their diplomas. After receiving their diplomas the children came to sit with their parents and watched a slide show of pictures from through the year. We finished our K-5 year with a party in the gym. It is so hard for me to believe my baby will be in first grade next year. Time sure flies.
Josh's teacher, "Miss" Bebe was given the REL Teacher of the Year award. We are so happy for her.

This is the way we watch the game.

Josh loved getting a trophy!

Lacie liked hers too.

Josh's last game of the season was Monday the 18th. They played a double header on a kind of chilly night against the team we had been rained out of playing twice. The boys and one girl had a great time and especially loved having a good snack and getting trophies at the end. Now we will just play endless games of baseball and practice throwing the football for the rest of the summer. Good times!!!

Silly Girls

While visiting my parents the other night these two silly girls cooked up a plan to scare people. They were hiding in a laundry basket in a cabinet in the bathroom and every time someone would sit on the potty they would fling the door open. Silly silly girls.

Sunday Funday

Sunday was another fun and somewhat busy day for us too. We went to Sunday School and church then home for lunch and naps. HA yeah right naps. I sent the girls home with my mom after church and brought Josh and his pal Sam home with me. They were actually very good and played quietly in J's room all afternoon while I worked on some chores. (Is there ever a time when we aren't doing some sort of chore?) We had our final children's choir meeting at five so we took our Sam home a little early only to find this in his yard.
Sam's aunt brought about seven horses and a donkey over and they were going out riding on the property. How much fun is that?! The boys weren't too sure about those big animals but mommy Kirven wanted so much to ride with them.

The children's final choir practice was so much fun. Mrs. Hicks sang a bunch of fun songs with them then let them have relay races down the hall in the education building. They had a blast running and screaming in the place where they are normally required to be on their better behavior. After the races we had a little party put on by the Hicks. I simply adore both of these people. Ken is such a wonderful preacher who just shines with the Holy Spirit and Tina is just as wonderful. Our church has been so blessed to have them as our leaders.
