We Are Ready For Some Football

Clemson or Carolina? Who really cares when you have the Lee County Recreation Department 6 and 7 year old football teams. It is so much fun to watch the little boys learn to play and develop as athletes. Josh is playing for the Sonoco team that his daddy is helping coach. I had my apprehensions about letting my "baby" play football since he is so small but the child loves all sports and is loving every minute of being out there. He is playing quarterback right now which I hope means he won't get tackled quite as much. Lots of his school buddies are also playing which makes for more fun and just a bit of competition.

This Saturday there was a jamboree for all of the Rec. Department football teams. It was actually a lot more fun than I thought. Life is so good.

Camping Kirven Style

Last weekend the children decided to go camping. I think the back yard made a perfect campsite. They had access to indoor plumbing and a refrigerator but still got to spend the night outside. It only took a few trips back into the house before they settled down and stayed out all night. Good times.

Beach Week 2010

Here are a few of the hundreds of pictures from our annual family beach vacation. We had a fantastic time being together. This year we had three, yep that's right, three houses. Our crowd continues to grow every year and it just keeps getting better. The children all got along and loved meeting their cousins from the north. Anna Grace was particularly enamored of Jake. I think they are gonna be good buddies. Life is so very good.

Anna Grace's Turn

This is Anna Grace posting! A few weeks ago i went to Camp Pee Dee. My sister went last week.I had lots of fun at camp and it was my 2nd year. It was Sara Abbett's 1st. I made lots of new friends and met some new counselors. I met Amanda, Tallon,Christina, and Ashley. Some friends i met were Ashley, Madison, Eileen, and Gracyn. I wish I could have seen them again since I left camp, but i didn't. I wish Sara Abbett was here with me so she could write about her time at camp. She is out with her friend Kate. I was in cabin 5 with my counselor and 4 others i knew 2 of the people in my cabin already. I wish i could go back go Camp Pee Dee!!!!!!!

Spring Music Program

The annual Spring music program was April 28. It is always so much fun to watch the children perform or not at their programs. Mrs. Broach did another great job getting all of our angels ready.

Taylor Swift Rocks

My girls finally got their Christmas gift last night.

This is the poem I wrote and rolled up in a Taylor Swift poster for them to open on Christmas morning:

This year for Christmas, as your special gift,
Mommy and Daddy are giving you Taylor Swift.

Just look at her picture. Isn’t she pretty?
Just wait ‘til you see her live in the city.

On April 30, in Columbia we’ll be,
Gracie, Rabbie and a lucky mommy.

Picture to Burn, Love Song, and Tim McGraw too
Are a few of the songs she may sing for you.

This poster will remind you every day
Of the concert that is still four long months away.

I hope you’re excited ‘cause I can’t wait,
To hang out with my girls for a special date.

Merry Christmas angel girls.
Love,
Mommy and Daddy

Our group ready to hit the road.

Lacie taking it all in.

Meg wasn't too sure about the crowd and noise at first
but she got used to it an had a great time.
Gray loved every minute.
Rab was in awe of Miss Swift.

So the picture isn't great but do you think she was having fun?
Livvie singing along
She was SOOO excited. I bet she thanked me a hundred times.
It was a late night for our girls.

We all had a great time. The girls took nearly 200 pictures during the show and I think they thanked me and hugged me at least that many times. I am looking forward to the next concert. I'm just not sure what or when that may be.
